"We love books" - April 28, 2022
"We love books" - under this title the students of the third A grade from Vazrazhdane Secondary School, Ruse, Bulgaria – marked April 23-rd - The International Day of Book and the commemoration of the death of William Shakespeare. The event is part of the planned activities of the project "MIND Your Health" of the European educational program "Erasmus +". Our school works together with students from Poland, Turkey and North Macedonia.
The third-graders got acquainted with the first sources of Bulgarian books and the wise thoughts of our writers from the past. They recited poems from our great poets, who dedicated their lives to the Liberation of Bulgaria. These poets supported the national spirit during the preparations for the Liberation. The students admired the beauty of homeland, the Bulgarian family values, the richness and expressiveness of our native language. Children's songs by Bulgarian composers brightened the mood. The folklore motifs in some of the poems and folk songs brought back both young and old people to the roots of our Bulgarian self-consciousness.
The celebration continued with a concert in which the students showed that in addition to their native language, they have learned a foreign language, spoken all over the world. After learning to read and write in our language, they began learning another language, English.
The first purpose of the European project "MIND Your Health" of the educational program "Erasmus +" is the mental health of young generation - one of the most important aims of modern society. The celebration directly reflected the state of the child's psyche and physical health in the difficult and stressful everyday life. It showed the children's wish to learn and have fun together at school.
